YOUTH CAREER DEVELOPMENT
YOUTH FIRST = OUR FUTURE!
MEET-THE-ARTIST INTERACTIVE ASSEMBLIES
Meet-The-Artist Interactive Assemblies are hands-on presentations in which a Theatre Of Hearts/Youth First Artist Mentor or a group of these professional artists visit a site to share their talent, experience, and knowledge in their particular field of art with an entire school assembly, community group, or other large gathering.
Both a performance and a workshop, TOHYF First Artist Mentors discuss their professional life as an artist, how they entered their field, their influences and background, then demonstrate their craft and allot time for participants to apply what they’ve seen and heard with appropriate exercises. Each assembly ends in a concluding question/answer session.
CAREER DAY PRESENTATIONS
TOHYF also provides Career Presentations in which select guest professionals from the arts and creative industries offer career coaching and mentorship encompassing a wide spectrum of arts-related fields such as arts administration, graphic design, and the music and entertainment industries. Professional guest speakers engage young participants in informative sessions about their professional lives and the challenges, histories, and experiences related to their fields. Career Day presentations help participants develop career goals and better understand the necessary steps to gaining employment. Examples of guests include professional sound engineers, web designers, radio hosts, actors, script writers and supervisors, directors, producers, and film set carpenters.
